Sinopse

She won’t eat. Her mother and grandmother try to get her to eat something, but she refuses. If she doesn’t eat, maybe the thing growing inside of her will die. She is not her mother or her grandmother, despite appearances to the contrary. One way or another she will change her family’s cycles.Kim Antieau has written many novels, short stories, poems, and essays. Her work has appeared in numerous publications, both in print and online, including The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction, Asimov’s SF, The Clinton Street Quarterly, The Journal of Mythic Arts, EarthFirst!, Alternet, Sage Woman, and Alfred Hitchcock’s Mystery Magazine. She was the founder, editor, and publisher of Daughters of Nyx: A Magazine of Goddess Stories, Mythmaking, and Fairy Tales. Her work has twice been short-listed for the Tiptree Award and has appeared in many best-of-the-year anthologies. Critics have admired her “literary fearlessness” and her vivid language and imagination. John Clute, writing about her novel The Gaia Websters in the third edition of The Science Fiction Encyclopedia, had this to say: “In the end, as usual in her work, any useful answers are held by the Earth herself.” Clute’s words could serve as a handy description of Kim’s writing and her life. Kim’s first novel The Jigsaw Woman is a modern classic of feminist literature. Her other novels include Church of the Old Mermaids, The Fish Wife, Ruby’s Imagine, Her Frozen Wild, and Mercy, Unbound. Kim lives in the Pacific Northwest with her husband, writer Mario Milosevic. Learn more about Kim and her writing at www.kimantieau.com.
