In volume one of the Lubrican short stories, we find four tales involving the west, or the farming life.First is Love On The Range, in which a young cowboy stumbles upon a ranch tenanted only by women. He becomes important to all of them, but there are more than he can handle alone, so he goes for help. The second story is called Feeding Petunia, where a man comes to help out on a modern day farm only to find there is temptation at every turn, not only with the woman he calls his best friend, but her daughter too. Things come to a head when another female on the farm latches onto him, unleashing the other two womens passions. The third book, Kammi Learns How, details the coming of age of Kammi, who ends up on her big sisters farm for the summer before she goes to college. Life on the farm adds to her sexual education in ways nobody anticipated. Once given lessons, all she wants to do is practice, and quite suddenly a different future may be possible for her. Finally, the fourth book, The Rangers Intern, takes us into the boundless forests of a national park, where a lonely forest ranger on fire watch in a tall tower is sent a young intern for the summer before her college debut. Everyone thought it would be fine, since the recommendation for the program identified her as the rangers "little sister." What the boss didnt know was that, while she had known him all his life, they were not, in fact, related. Shed also had a crush on him for years. And he was very lonely.Warning: Lubricans short stories are what many people refer to as "stroke stories." They are intended only for mature audiences and are not appropriate for those under the age of eighteen.
