Whoever worked out the movements for Tai Chi was an absolute genius. There is incredible symmetry and organization in the movements. No one part works on its own - when you do Tai Chi or Qigong the body works as a unified whole. Sequences of movements have a stronger effect than individual movements and there has to be a plan in this. Tai Chi is not a martial art although it can be used that way. It is more a series of gentle and refined movements, each one of which builds on the one before. The buildup of chi energy is cumulative and the more you do it, the more the energy of chi is available to you. It can be targeted and focused. It can be moved outside the body and more importantly, other things in this world can be trained to follow a flow of chi energy over long distances. This book will tell you how to do these things. There are some people who feel the chi energy start to flow in their very first lesson, there are others who go for years without feeling anything. There is real power in Tai Chi. Let it flow.
