This is the true memoir of an American woman who is under house arrest in China. As Ai Hua looks out through the bars on her window, she reflects on the missionary activities the past five months that got her into this predicament. Then we follow her through the next week as she is first told she has to return to America and then is prevented from doing so. Her telephone and internet connection have been cut off. Her visa will now expire on January 11. If she is still in China on January 12, she will automatically be guilty of several felonies and sent to a state penitentiary. However, Ai Hua turns to the Lord and actually enjoys the events of the next week as He delivers her from the fate that the police have planned for her. All names have been changed and a new calendar constructed to conceal which year in the first decade of the 21st century these events took place. However, this book is taken from the journal Ai Hua kept. Quite a bit had to be omitted, but nothing was added.
