The Curing tells the epic tale of one man's life and, in doing so, takes us from the end of the Second World War to twenty-first century Britain. Joshua Hoi is born in August 1945 to a Japanese father that he never knew and an English mother. It is the beginning of a life that takes him to the margins of society and to the heart of the establishment; it is a life that is crammed full of drama, tragedy, and unexpected good fortune. Throughout it all, Joshua discovers a lot about himself and the world, and he always tries to do good. So, when his luck turns, he shares it with others and uses his good fortune to transform the lives of others. And when, by accident, he makes a discovery that could annihilate the world, he uses it instead as a force for good. But how much difference can his good deeds really make?
