Sinopse

Still grieving the loss of his wife and children, Detective Steve Davis returned to work, hoping it would help him overcome the guilt and depression that had taken hold of him, but he doubted it could restore his shattered faith in God. After his captain, Wyatt Collins, and his partner, Kelly Smith, urged him to talk to Pat Phillips, the department psychologist, Steve was dealing with his personal tragedy as well as could be expected, but he certainly hadn’t counted on catching the most bizarre case New York City had ever seen. There were dead bodies being left all over the city with no apparent cause of death and, yet, others being saved from fatal catastrophes, all linked to an angel. Steve Davis and Kelly dove into the case on his first day back, but the events were growing in their magnitude and the bodies were piling up at the morgues, faster than they could investigate them, but when an entire church congregation declares their souls are the angel’s to take, and Steve and Kelly are called to the scene, they find everyone dead and soon realize they may be dealing with an evil entity, not an angel of God. To make things even weirder, Steve kept hearing a voice speak to him when he was alone and, at times, would see the silhouette of a man watching him from a distance. When things escalate to the point that Kelly is attacked and left for dead, Steve knows he must find a way to stop whatever is wreaking havoc on his city and hurting people he loved. With the help of a brilliant professor from a local college, Charlie Peterson, Steve learned more and more about the entity, and along the way, discovered the truth and depth of his own personal tragedy and his faith.
