I was converted to Christ during my first week at the University. l faithfully grew in the Lord and was keen on winning others to the Lord. For three years, during which l witnessed to an average of three students a week, l saw three students converted to the Lord Jesus. l was however unsatisfied and wondered if there was not more to the matter of winning people to Christ than l was seeing.Four years later on, while l was doing postgraduate work, l was praying in my room at 5 p.m., yearning for power to speak at the Christian Union in Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda. l was not expecting anything in particular, apart from the assurance that the Lord was coming with me into that meeting. l had not been praying for more than five minutes when suddenly l found myself praying loudly, actually shouting praises to God in other tongues. Many students gathered around my room to find out what was happening. l continued to speak in tongues loudly for the next two hours. From that day, l began to see people turn to the Lord in a remarkable way as l witnessed to them at the individual level, or as l preached to them in large numbers. Sometimes l knelt to pray and was so lost in God that l would not realize that l had been praying for five or six hours. That was fifteen years ago. l was baptized into the Holy Spirit! This book is about that experience - The Baptism into the Holy Spirit.May God bless you as you read it. May you be baptized into the Holy Spirit as you read it, and if you are already baptized into the Holy Spirit, may the Lord lead you into a greater experience of the power of the Spirit-filled life.
