Interview with Mr. Arturi:  The Content of the Book Mr. Arturi: my technique’s first section is similar to that of the great Hollywood actors mentioned in the cover of my book, and inside are their comments about how they create a character for a film. They made these comments in the program “Inside the Actors Studio” in Bravo Channel where anybody can watch the videos at any time. I developed the technique and added many essential elements covering all areas to make well-rounded great actors. Experience is not necessary, they only need a low-cost camcorder and in the book I provide all the elements to become a professional film actor. The young learn the technique from A to Z; it means, starts reading the book (A) and by the end of the training s/he’ll be ready to perform the main character in a professional feature film (Z), guaranteed! Q. What they do once they have learned the technique? How do they become professional actors? A. I explain all the necessary steps to enter into the world of movies and be a successful professional actor, and very importantly, avoiding the stumbling blocks that inexperience can bring to them. He concludes: The young cannot expect to find stories, anecdotes, opinions, metaphors, scenes, non relative matters, or useless exercises to "entertain" that are found in many books of the same subject used as “book fillers”. If they want or dream of being a Hollywood actor, my book gives all the elements to do it. Guaranteed!  Mr. Arturi's challenge: find in the world an acting school or a published book that gives 25% of the elements and information contained my book. Q. If they don’t want to be a professional actor, Mr. Arturi explains a very interesting idea. A. Mr. Arturi: the young who doesn't want to be a professional actor, but would like to learn the technique can use it as the foundation of a game to play with friends. A minimum of 3 people is needed to make an acting/filming team, any 2 in front of the camera and one shooting the scene. I explain an easy way to film that even a child can do it; even, they can include more people making it more fun. Later the team gets in contact with other groups that will be created in schools and colleges to compete. This idea is developed with details in the section "My Dream”. It's an entertaining, interesting and very funny game to play. He adds: my system allows the learning of the technique without a teacher, providing the elements for self-control and correction; "the why" and "the how" to do it are explained in the "The John Travolta Test” section; the student saves a lot of money and doesn’t waste years in acting schools, workshops or private teacher. The book provides a great cultural and intellectual growth explained in the chapter "The Imagination". Mr. Arturi’s commented that expects negative reviews coming from the established systems, because he is teaching a psychologically healthy, practical, successful, fun and inexpensive technique that in a good part contradicts the established. In addition, in the book, he exposes the psychological negative produced by those techniques that nobody dares contradict because there is a lot of money at stake on the part of those who teach acting. Just observe the erratic behavior of many famous actors that were trained in those techniques. Q: Mr. Arturi, you said that expect negative criticism, what will you do? A: Mr. Arturi: just a warning for those who read reviews. Dishonesty, falsehoods, lies; they will use everything to discredit my book / technique. Book readers should keep this in mind and doubt of the honesty of some reviews on any book. He ends by saying: This is the time to learn the true technique of film acting, and discard those expensive and obsolete theatrical adapted to it; the young have nothing to lose and a lot to win.
