He told them to hide their weapons and store supplies. He told them to get ready for war.Soon the British closed off Boston. No one was allowed to leave without a letter from the British leaders. There were even warships in Boston Harbor.Paul didnt follow the rules. He snuck out lots of times. He had a rowboat in the northern end of Boston and he rowed across the Charles River to Charlestown. At first the oars made a noise as they splashed in the water. The soldiers on the warships might hear the splashing. Paul didn’t want to get caught so he had to make the boat as quiet as he could. He wrapped some cloth around the oars.
