Arthur loves playing the trading-card game, Rune Matrix; but a nameless threat hangs over him. Receiving a powerful new card from a stranger, he plays it the next chance he gets, and it throws him into his Land of the Heart.
There, a talking owl offers him a quest: to find the Mount of Omnia; but Arthur isn’t interested. He just wants to get back home. Accepting the simpler-sounding quest of a friendly crow, he goes in search of the Black Gate, the promised way home; but it’s buried in the depths of the Forest of Darkness, and is locked; and unlocking it involves a much bigger quest, which the crow had failed to mentioned.
Suffering threats to his life, and extremes of cold, heat, rain, snow, and trash, Arthur wanders the entire Land in search of the required black medallions. And then, when the Black Gate finally stands open, he’s thrown face-to-face with his worst nightmare.
He has the clues. Will he be able to put them together before he gets sucked into The Abyss of Nil?
