Sinopse

Day of the Dogs speculates on what may happen to our advanced society during a solar storm. The book explores how people and governments might react in the week before the CME (Coronal Mass Eruption) impacts earth. The book describes the last week of modern society from the viewpoint of the leading character living in Portland, Oregon. This science fiction novel asks the question of whether religious, cultural, ethnic, racial, and class fault lines in the USA today will lead to a breakdown in law and order. Will Hispanics already agitating for the return of the American Southwest, declare independence? Will thousands of armed gang members cause a wave of urban chaos authorities can't control? Will Islamic terror sleeper cells take advantage of the incoming solar flare? Will US Marines have to be deployed into our major cities in a frantic effort to maintain order? Day of the Dogs is a fast paced, exciting, and very insightful look at what could happen if the American people realized they only had a week of civilization left. Day of the Dogs is a "Doomer novel." It tells the reader what to do to prepare for any potential disaster. What would you do if you really knew society would collapse in five days? How would people around you react? Day of the Dogs is in the best science fiction tradition for end of the world books. It is non PC science fiction. It may enrage liberals who think people will not act like they do in the fictional scenario of Day of the Dogs. Here are several unedited Amazon Kindle Select reviews. I've read just about everything I've come across in the past two years that relates to SHTF. This one is among the very best. I live 40 miles from my office. I commute to the office most of the time on mass transit. I read most of the fiction that I read while I am commuting. The author's view of the likely human behavior in the scenario he describes is dead on. Anyone who objects does so for political correctness reasons that are totally at odds with common sense. This book kept my complete attention from beginning to the end. In fact, it made me regret when my trips were ending! 1 of 3 people found the following review helpful 5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT DOOMER READ, April 24, 2012 Michael D. Well worth the 2.99 price tag. I always get the kindle version these days as it is so much more affordable. This one I am tempted to buy the hard copy for reference. Well worth the time and money to buy this one.
