FBI Special Agent Ben Kaplan has stumbled onto a case that he can't quite explain. One that defies any logical explanation.
“There are some things that you just can't explain without considering the paranormal.”
Ben is introduced to Ione Koirala, a psychic and a woman with a secret of her own. The two are instantly drawn to one another, their lives and fates now intertwined.
Ghost Protocol: Episode 1 is 5700 words of Paranormal Erotical. Additional Episodes will be released soon.
Ione listened carefully as Ben explained the case that had been haunting him for the past few months. She did more than just open her ears however, she let down the shields she always kept in place, holding back the energy that flowed through the surrounding world. She didn't drop them fully – that would be like sending out a beacon to those she'd rather not alert. It was enough, though, for her to read the shifting energy. She disliked the word magic; it inferred an unexplainable ability to pull rabbits out of hats. This was more a reading and / or manipulation of the energy that everything – living or not – put out on a daily basis.
“You brought something from the crime scenes,” she spoke up as soon as Ben finished. Judging by his startled expression, she knew she'd guessed accurately.
“Pictures,” Ben admitted. He handed over a manila folder.
Ione sucked in a quick breath as her fingers closed on it. The energy that jumped to her was a mix of lust and darkness that went straight through her.
“Are you okay?”
She nodded and opened the file. It wasn't the sight of the bodies, of the violence, that made her stomach clench and her body shiver. She closed her eyes, dropping her head forward, a groan tumbling from her lips. Images flashed behind her eyes, not from the pictures or the descriptions, but a jumble, a cacophony not of sound but of sight and emotion. Dimly, she was aware of someone screaming, and then, another voice calling her name.
Then hands were on her shoulders, warm against her cold skin.
Ione's head came up with an almost audible snap. Her eyes opened and Ben's gasp told her that they were glowing, but it didn't matter because he was touching her and she could feel the desire he'd been masking. It poured off of him in waves and her own body responded. Somewhere in the recesses of her mind, she knew something had to be amplifying their emotions, but they were too strong to ignore. She wanted him and she could see in his eyes that he wanted her too.
She grabbed the front of his jacket and yanked him down to his knees. She had a moment to register the pleased surprise lighting up gunmetal gray before her lips collided with his. This was no romantic first kiss. It was need and want and have. She drank from his mouth, tongue plundering its warm depths even as her hands were busy divesting him of his jacket and shirt. She made an appreciative noise as her fingers explored his muscular torso. His own hands were at her waist, fingers sliding under the back of her camisole to burn across bare skin. When they slipped around to her stomach, a bolt of desire ran through her, electrifying her and awakening the hunger that she tried so desperately to control.
