What would you do if you met your guardian angel, only to discover he despised you?
Having rejected his strict religious upbringing, Alex was proud of his fringe-dwelling life, surrounded by artists, weirdoes and outcasts. Now, though, everything is swirling down the toilet - he's a failure as a playwright, wrecked by drugs, and troubled by nightmares, hallucinations, and the growing dread that he’s going insane. When an intimidating, ass-kicking stranger reluctantly saves him from a beating, then claims to be a guardian angel, the only rational explanation is there's plenty of crazy going around.
But when the stranger tells him that he is the only thing preventing an apocalypse, Alex is horrified to realize, the stranger might just be telling the truth.
