When it comes to civic pride and sex, how can the latter hope to win out? Semi Byte Network administrator Bob Katzenberg is consumed with his small Midwestern city of Luster, visiting the new airport terminal, monitoring the progress of Luster’s first skyscraper (the 43-story ReadyMart Building) and obsessing over any mention of his town in the national news. Bob’s biggest fantasy is leading a Luster trade delegation to China and convincing them to open a semiconductor facility in his hometown. After spending years attending Chamber of Commerce mixers and buttonholing staffers to give him a volunteer position as a quasi-ambassador of Luster, they finally relent and send him on a “trade mission” to Des Moines to evaluate a software package used by the local Chamber of Commerce. Intimidated by the sights and sounds of the “big city”, Bob returns to Luster a broken man, his civic pride shattered. But when he meets Koosa, a pretty, but lonely, Indian engineer at his company, she takes an interest in Luster, reviving Bob's civic pride. But when she confides to Bob that her arranged marriage is ending, and that she’ll be forced to return to India unless she remarries, Bob begins to suspect her sudden interest in Luster is an attempt to rope him into a green card marriage. However, Bob finds that he has strong feelings for Koosa and may have to choose between the love of a woman over the love of a city -- even if her love might not be all that sincere. The first romantic comedy about civic pride!
