A promise is a promise so the saying goes but when all is said and done and we experience the storms of life, are we able to keep those promise we have made when circumstances seems perfect? We may difficult but does not default on His promises. We are exploring the promised God made to His people and see how God stood out for them through the thick and thin of life. We start with the study of the book of Jeremiah.
As we meditate on these promises of God (“I will forgive you”, “I will bless you”, etc.) spoken by Prophet Jeremiah to His people, it is important to note that God commits to these promises being made good, after His people’s repentance. One of the greatest frustrations a Christian can face is to be going through severe suffering, cry to God, and get no answers. Job knew something of this experience when, in his suffering, he lamented*: “If only I knew where to find him; if only I could go to his dwelling!”* (Job 23:3 NIV).
