'Five' is a book about the ways the five elements are worshiped all around the world. Patrick James Michel has dramatically and mystically captured these five elements through the lens of his camera. He takes the viewer on an initiation trip from the Samburu (earth) around Lake Turkana, Africa, to the Ganges (water) in India, through the Touareg (fire) in Northern Africa, and the Indian Shaman (air) of North America. All the animals, trees, clouds, waves, sands and human beings photographed seem so alive in print because each shot is filled with emotion. Every picture will give the viewer the feeling of being intimately involved in the transition toward the raison d’être of the universe, thanks to the powerful message delivered by the five elements.
