Child sexual abuse is very widespread and of great concern to a wide range of professionals. This book takes a different perspective than much of the existing literature by being based on the experiences of a small number of young men who experienced abuse in childhood and uses their narratives to explore the impact on their everyday lives and the wider implications to society. As well as the detailed life story analyses, the book contains a literature review, discussions of gender, patriarchy and their influences. A final section deals with implications for practice. Very little available on the sexual abuse of boys, this book fills a gap in the market Few research participants are young males making this a unique text.
